Freedom Climb 2011

When: June 10-13, 2011
Where: Mountains all over the country
Who: Open to all mountaineering groups, clubs and organizations

WORLD RECORD CATEGORY: Largest Ascent on a Mountain (Multiple Locations)

The current record is: The largest number of people climbing mountains at the same time took place during the “Big Event” on September 10, 2000 when 600 people simultaneously scaled 112 mountains in the United Kingdom and Ireland.

FREEDOM CLIMB 2O11 – not only aims to break the above record but will set a new category: LARGEST NUMBER OF PEOPLE SUMMITING MOUNTAINS in 24 HOURS (Multiple Locations).

Whereas, in the first category, the participants were only required to complete at least 1,000 feet of the climb in order to be counted towards the final total for the record attempt; Freedom Climb 2011 requires the participants to climb the summit to be counted for the record attempt.

Filipino Mountaineers STAND UNITED…Worldwide!

Organized by: The Alliance of Filipino Mountaineers, Inc. (FIMOinc) and it’s partners. FIMOinc. was created to lead the way in campaigning and promoting responsible mountaineering and endorse synergism among individuals and groups towards the development of mountain climbing as a sport. It is our ultimate purpose…to advocate for the conservation, preservation and protection of our forests and to unite the mountaineering community to achieve greater good.

Our Commitment:

L.O.S.T (League of Summiteers and Trailblazers) – my team are committed to join this event and we are now waiting for confirmation from the event organizers so that an ocular visit to our selected mountain will be set and hopefully be part of this much awaited event.

Once Again PHILIPPINE Mountaineers!

Let’s STAND UNITED! Mabuhay! (Long Live Philippines!)
