Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story Ranked 6th Place in the Box Office but Wins MMFF 2011 Major Awards

Last time I blogged about the come back of Pinoy Action Movie and Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Untold Story is one of the Official entry for Metro Manila Film Festival Year 2011 and guest what the said film grabbed almost all the major awards during the awards night held at Resorts World Performing Arts Theater last December 28, 2011 hosted by Ai-Ai delas Alas, John Estrada, and Richard Gomez and replayed on January 1, 2012 in ABS-CBN‘s Sunday’s Best.

Awards Received are the following:

MMFF Best Festival Picture: Manila Kingpin – The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Director: Gary dela Cruz, Tikoy Aguiluz, Manila Kingpin, Asiong Salonga

Best Editing – Jason Canapay and Ryan Orduna, ”Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Musical Score: Nonong Buencamino, “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Sound Recording: Mike Idioma, ”Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Prod. Design: “Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Cinematography: ”Manila Kingpin: The Asiong Salonga Story

Best Original Theme Song: La Paloma/Asiong Salonga  by Ely Buendia

Congratulations to ALL the winners and Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Filipino – Long Live Philippine Films. I’m excited and waiting for the next Pinoy Action Movie starring Cesar Montano and FHM’s No. 1 Sexiest Woman in the Philippines Sam Pinto entitled “Hitman”.

Update as of January 1, 2011: To those who haven’t seen any movies for The 37th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is still open until the first week of January 2012, the said festival is an annual film festival in Manila, Philippines that usually starts every 25th of December.
